Overview

The PIECAL 820 is a handheld multifunction process calibrator covering milliamp, voltage, frequency, thermocouples, RTDs, and continuity. Source 0 to 24.00 mA, 0 to 10.25 V, and −10.00 to 80.00 mV DC; read to 24.00 mA, 10.25 V, 60.0 V, and −10.00 to 80.00 mV. Frequency source and read to 2000 CPM and related Hz ranges per the datasheet.

Thermocouple types include J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D and more process curves; RTDs include Pt 100 (3850, 3902, 3916, 3926) and Pt 1000 (3850). Thermocouple accuracy is ±(0.03% of full scale) with ±0.1 °C cold-junction compensation; milliamp and many electrical functions are specified at ≤ ±(0.03% of full scale). EZ-CHECK and automatic stepping/ramping speed field work.

Includes four AA batteries, Certificate of Calibration, dark blue rubber boot, hands-free carrying case, and multifunction wire kit. Made in the USA with NIST-traceable calibration.

PIE lists the 820 as six functions in one calibrator: mA, V, TC, ohms, RTD and Hz.

Milliamps and volts: source and read milliamps, DC volts (read to 60 V) and millivolts. Simulate 2-wire transmitters, power loops from the built-in 24 V supply, and use the built-in 250 Ω resistor for HART hookups.
Temperature: thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L (J DIN), U (T DIN) and P (Platinel II); RTD types Pt 100 Ω (3850, 3902, 3916, 3926) and Pt 1000 Ω (3850), Cu 10 and 50 Ω, Ni 110 and 120 Ω.
Frequency: source and read to 2000 CPM, 999.99 Hz, 9999.9 Hz and 20.000 kHz, for flow and vibration systems.
Continuity: built-in beeper checks wiring.
Stepping and ramping: store three outputs on the EZ-CHECK switch; step in 2, 3, 5 or 11 steps (100%, 50%, 25% or 10% of span) or ramp between zero and span.
Operation: EZ-DIAL double-click menus match PIE's single-function Evolution calibrators; display icons show where to plug in the leads; backlit display.
