Which tachometer suits my job?

• R7050: photo (non-contact) tachometer, 2 to 99,999 RPM at ±0.05%, at up to 1.6 ft (500 mm).
• R7140: contact 0.5 to 19,999 RPM and photo 5 to 99,999 RPM, plus surface speed.
• R7150: contact 0.5 to 19,999 RPM and laser photo 10 to 99,999 RPM, at up to 6.5 ft (2000 mm).
• R7200 LED Stroboscope: 60 to 99,999 fpm at ±0.001%.

Coating thickness or ultrasonic thickness gauge?

Coating gauges measure a coating on metal: - CM-8822: non-magnetic coatings on magnetic or non-magnetic metal, 0 to 40 mils (0 to 1000 μm). - R7800: 0 to 1250 μm, detects ferrous and non-ferrous substrates automatically.

Ultrasonic gauges measure wall or material thickness: - R7900: 0.65 to 400 mm. - R7920: 1.00 to 300 mm. - TM-8811: 1.5 to 200 mm.

To check an ultrasonic gauge, the R9060 5-Step Calibration Block is 1018 steel.

Which vibration meter should I use?

• R7000SD: data logging meter; measures velocity and acceleration.
• R7010: measures velocity, acceleration and displacement, with a rotatable 2.4" color screen.

Which refractometer do I need?

• R9500: sugar, 0 to 32% Brix.
• R9510: digital, 0 to 55% Brix at 0.1% resolution.
• R9600: salinity, 0 to 28%, with ATC.
• R9700: coolant freezing point (−50 to 0°C) and battery acid specific gravity.

How do I measure push and pull force?

The SD-6020 (20 kg) and SD-6100 (100 kg) force gauge dataloggers measure tension and compression at ±(0.5% rdg. + 2 dgt.). REED notes that the SD-6100 needs a compression test fixture for push tests.
