Overview
The PIECAL 311 sources and measures RTD sensors and calibrates RTD instruments directly in °C or °F. It supports Platinum 100 (α = 3850, 3902, 3926) and 1000 (α = 3850, 3750) Ω, Copper 10 & 50 Ω, and Nickel 120 Ω, and works like a decade box from 0.00 to 401.00 Ω and 0.0 to 4010.0 Ω.
Use the digital dial to set values within 0.1°, store three temperatures for EZ-CHECK™ recall, and auto-step outputs across 2–21 steps with selectable timing. The secondary display shows the resistance corresponding to the RTD temperature. Compatible with smart transmitters, PLCs, DCS, and multichannel recorders with fixed or pulsed excitation.
Patented technology automatically detects 2-, 3-, and 4-wire connections to help find broken wires. Field-ready with rubber boot, tilt stand, and backlit display. Made in the USA with a NIST-traceable Certificate of Calibration.
Features (PIE)
- Accuracy: ±(0.015% of reading + 0.05 Ω), with resolution to 0.1 °F and °C.
- RTD curves (source and read): Pt 100 Ω (1.3850, 1.3902, 1.3916, 1.3926), Pt 1000 Ω (1.3850, 1.3750), Cu 10 and 50 Ω and Ni 120 Ω, plus ohms. PIE offers custom ranges on request.
- Wire detection: patented automatic detection of 2-, 3- and 4-wire connections finds broken wires; all connections are shown on the display.
- Verify output: a secondary display shows ohms alongside temperature.
- Compatibility: PIE states it works with smart transmitters (including Rosemount and Honeywell), PLCs, DCSs, multichannel recorders and other pulsed-excitation devices.
- Speed: three EZ-CHECK outputs, a two-speed EZ-DIAL knob and automatic stepping.
- Display and power: backlit display; four AA batteries, changed without tools.
