Overview
The PIECAL 334Plus adds diagnostics and finer resolution to everyday loop work. Source and read 0.000 to 24.000 mA (−25.00 to 125.00% of 4–20 mA), simulate two-wire transmitters, and power HART transmitters with the built-in 250 Ω resistor. Patented Ground Leak Detection helps find moisture and wiring faults that ordinary loop calibrators miss.
EZ-CHECK points at 4 and 20 mA are ≤ ±(0.025% of span) (±0.005 mA); full-range source accuracy is ≤ ±(0.05% of 24 mA span) (±0.012 mA). Loop drive is 1200 Ω at 20 mA with leak detection off (950 Ω with HART resistor). Automatic stepping and a backlit display speed plant rounds.
Includes batteries, Certificate of Calibration Card, rubber boot, deluxe carrying case, and test leads per the datasheet. Made in the USA with NIST-traceable calibration.
Features (PIE)
- Ranges: source to 24 mA; read to 52 mA and −99.99 to 99.99 V.
- Transmitters: simulate a 2-wire transmitter, or power and read it. A menu-selectable 250 Ω resistor gives HART compatibility.
- Accuracy: ±0.025% of span at the 4.00 and 20.00 mA EZ-CHECK outputs.
- Current leak detection (patented): shows loop current and leakage current, so you can see ground leakage from faulty wiring, flooded conduit or corrosion bridges. PIE notes leakage usually shows up as a zero shift, which helps you decide whether the transmitter or the wiring is the problem.
- Speed: three-output EZ-CHECK switch, two-speed EZ-DIAL, stepping and ramping; backlit display.
