PIE 520B Thermocouple Source

Overview

The PIECAL 520B sources one thermocouple type for checking and calibrating T/C instruments. Order the code for your curve (J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L, U, or P). Calibrate directly in °C or °F, or from −13.000 to 80.000 mV.

Accuracy is ±(0.015% of reading + 0.009 mV) with cold-junction compensation of ±0.25 °C. Set values within 0.1° and use EZ-CHECK to recall three stored temperatures. Compatible with transmitters, PLCs, DCS, and recorders.

Four AA batteries and Certificate of Calibration included; optional rubber boot available. Made in the USA with NIST-traceable calibration.

Features (PIE)

PIE describes the 520B as a thermocouple simulator for one dedicated standard thermocouple curve across the industrial temperature range. It feeds precise temperatures to transmitters, recorders, controllers, alarms, data acquisition and computer systems, and it is cold-junction compensated for changes in ambient temperature.

• Accuracy: ±(0.015% of mV setting + 0.009 mV); typically ±0.35 °C (0.5°) for Type K.
• Types: J, K, E, T, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L, U or P (chosen when ordering).
• Output: adjustable in 0.1 °C or 0.1 °F steps with the EZ-Dial knob.
• EZ-Check: three-position switch for 0% and 100% span adjustments.
• Batteries: standard AA alkaline batteries with about 45 hours of typical continuous use, and easy access to the battery compartment.
• Protection: protected to 60 V.
• Included: NIST-traceable calibration certificate.
• Options: rubber boot, T/C wire with miniature connector, and carrying case. Offered with a Standard or Basic accessory package.
