Overview
The PIE 422 sources and measures thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L (J-DIN), U (T-DIN), and P (Platinel II), plus −13.000 to +80.000 mV. Cold-junction compensation is ±0.05 °C with an 11-year NIST-traceable thermistor on an isothermal brass block—screw terminals for bare wire plus a miniature connector for fast hookups.
Secondary displays show millivolt value and measured cold-junction temperature. Automatic stepping and EZ-CHECK speed calibration of transmitters, PLCs, DCS, and recorders. When certified by an accredited lab, the 422 can meet AMS 2750 field test instrument requirements for heat-treating uniformity surveys and system accuracy tests.
Includes rubber boot, tilt stand, and backlit display. Made in the USA with NIST-traceable Certificate of Calibration.
Features (PIE)
- 14 thermocouple types plus mV: J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L (J DIN), U (T DIN) and P (Platinel), plus −13.000 to 80.000 mV.
- Accuracy: to 0.2°, with resolution to 0.1 °F and °C. The cold-junction sensor is accurate to 0.05 °C.
- Heat treating: PIE states the 422 can meet the requirements of an AMS 2750 field test instrument when certified by an accredited laboratory, for uniformity survey recorders and system accuracy tests.
- Secondary displays: compensated millivolt setting and cold-junction temperature.
- Speed: three EZ-CHECK outputs, two-speed EZ-DIAL knob and automatic stepping; double-click to change T/C type and °F/°C.
- Connections and power: brass screw terminals for bare T/C wire plus a mini T/C socket; backlit display; four AA batteries, changed without tools.
