PIE 830PM Panel Mount Multifunction Calibrator

Overview

The PIE 830PM is the panel-mount version of the PIE 830 diagnostic multifunction calibrator. It provides the same specifications, dual-display troubleshooting tools, and connections as the handheld 830, with a larger display sized for calibration benches and test stands. Two isolated measurement channels let you calibrate transmitters, PLCs, and other instruments with one device.

Beyond the 820-class milliamp, voltage, T/C, RTD, ohms, and frequency functions, the 830PM adds pH source, optional pressure-module measurement, patented current-leak / LoopScope diagnostics, automatic RTD wire detection, and isolated transmitter-replace mode. Automatic stepping and ramping with selectable dwell time match the handheld models.

Each unit includes a rugged 8¾" × 4¾" painted aluminum mounting plate and screws, 110/120 V AC adapter, and NIST calibration certificate. Three-year standard warranty per PIE.

Features (PIE)

The 830PM is PIE's panel-mount diagnostic calibrator with two isolated channels, so one unit can calibrate transmitters, PLCs and other instruments. It uses the same menus as PIE's handheld models.

• Milliamps and volts: source and read milliamps, DC volts (read to 60 V) and millivolts. Simulate 2-wire transmitters, power loops from the built-in 24 V supply, and use the built-in 250 Ω resistor for HART hookups.
• Temperature: thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, N, G, C, D, L (J DIN), U (T DIN) and P (Platinel II); RTD types Pt 100 Ω (3850, 3902, 3916, 3926) and Pt 1000 Ω (3850), Cu 10 and 50 Ω, Ni 110 and 120 Ω.
• Frequency: source and read to 2000 CPM, 999.99 Hz, 9999.9 Hz and 20.000 kHz, for flow and vibration systems.
• Resistance: up to 4010 Ω.
• pH: source 0.000 to 14.000 pH at 25 °C (77 °F), corresponding to +414.12 to −414.12 mV.
• Pressure: with optional PIE digital pressure modules (32 modules for gauge, differential, compound and absolute pressure).
• Diagnostics (patented): current leak detection; LoopScope shows loop current, voltage and resistance; automatic RTD connection detection; isolated transmitter mode.
• Stepping and ramping: store three outputs on the EZ-CHECK switch; step in 2, 3, 5 or 11 steps (100%, 50%, 25% or 10% of span) or ramp between zero and span.
